It was supposed to be an ablation of the heart on January 16, and a one or two day stay. That turned into open heart surgery, a pericardiectomy. Here it is January 29th and we are still here, hoping to go home soon, he is doing fairly well.
Oh Candace, how difficult for you both. I wish him a full and speedy recovery. Please don't forget to take of yourself as well. It can be extremely stressful to have a loved one in the hospital.
Oh, Candace, what a shame for you both, but looking on the bright side, perhaps the operation will do the trick. I feel bad about not getting in touch before, but I slipped on the ice and broke my wrist, so I'm doing everything one-handed. best wishes to you both.
"Modern Medicine" is such an inexact science. I know how challenging it can be when things don't go as planned. Try to remember to take good care of yourself, too, so you will be at your best when you husband comes home and is in your care. Sending some healing good vibes and prayers to you both.
Oh Candace! I hope he is able to go home soon. My husband had a double ablation last year following several cardioversions for A Fib and A Flutter. This was after he had his mitral value replaced three years ago. It has been a long road. But today we were at the Heart Institute to learn that he is staying in rhythm and don't need to go back for 6 months.
I pray your husband's procedure will take care of the condition. His sternum will be sore for a few months. Prayers for both of you!
