First Small Finish for the Year
January pink wrap-up - top left - could use the Rainbow Scrappy Trip Along blocks below for Rainbow Scrappy Bargello instead, top middle - future Rainbow Jelly Roll Race style strippie quilt, top right - 6" heart blocks, bottom left - Rainbow Scrappy Trip Along, bottom middle - Rainbow 16 patches, bottom right - Rainbow 9 patch and snowball blocks. If I hang in there until the end of the year I'll have 4 new rainbow quilts to show for my scrappy efforts. Not bad, and a big thank you to Angela at Soscrappy. |

More Pink Rainbow Scrap Challenge
This is getting scary, I can't seem to stop. I saw Edith's post here at Inch by Inch Quilting and then I had to make a ‘Scrappy Trip Along’, too. |
It occurred to me that the left overs from the strips would make a very interesting Jelly Roll Race quilt. I'm saving them for it. |

It Happened Again
I had good intentions of watching the Craftsy "Repiecing the Past", with Kaye England video when I got home from my husband's doctors appointment, but instead I replenished my 2 1/2" scrappy squares and started 4 of the block b's for my SV quilt. By that time DH was up from his long nap and we watched TV for awhile. I again started watching the video on my ipad and fell asleep. Oh well, I figured that I might as well finish my 4 blocks this morning, which I did. I also sewed them into quadrant 3. Only 8 more blocks to go and I'll be ready to put the quadrants all together and think about borders.

Another BOM and RSC - Pink
This is the January Block of the OKC Modern Quilters Guild I think that it was supposed to finish at 12.5 x 12.5, but I came up short on the sides and had to trim it to 12 x 12. Oh well, I'll deal with it in the coming months when I see how I mess up then, lol. |
I decided that it would be better to try to make 3 blocks a month for Angela's ScrapHappy Saturday, Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2013, so I added the block on the bottom. That would yield 36 blocks and a 72 x 72 quilt to start with and I can go from there with borders. Or I could go 5 x 7 and a 60 by 84 to start with. I have almost a whole year to decide.

Sugar Block Club and Craftsy BOM 2012 and 2013
I'm trying to catch up everything while my Easy Street rests, and so this is my January Sugar Block Club BOM. I plan on my colors being pale pink with polka dots background and red, blue and grey. Hopefully, I'll stick to it, but there is always the possibility that it will be completely scrappy by the end of the year. |
The plan is to remake the Craftsy BOM 2012 and add them to the Sugar Block club BOM to have a nice big queen sized quilt. One month down.

ScrapHappy Saturday, Tickled Pink
I've put my Easy Street aside for now and am trying to catch up on a few other things. These are for Angela's ScrapHappy Saturday, Tickled Pink. I'm not sure how I'll do it, if I'll do all the blocks the same except for color, or do different blocks, but here are the first ones for the year. I didn't really participate last year and I loved some of the colorful scrappy quilts, so this year I'm going to try to keep up. Here's Angela's blog, and there is a linky, too. |

Easy Street Top Without Borders And With Borders, too.
It does look better in person, using my iphone, and poor lighting, but my constant doesn't show up too much and my scrappy is too scrappy. I think when it is finished though that it will be pretty on the bed, and that is what I want it for is a bed quilt. My design wall (piece of flannel) isn't very big as you can see. I had to tape the corner to the other closet door and it is hanging on the floor. |
I wanted to see how it fits on my queen sized bed so far. |
As you can see, without borders it is hanging pretty nicely down the sides. I think that with the borders it will be ok on the sides even after quilting and washing. |
It hangs nicely on both sides and the bottom, but is only to the top of the mattress on the top side. I like tucking length, so i will probably add something extra to the top and the bottom for extra length. |
Sunday 01-06-13 I got my borders added. This is the top and bottoms, with a 1", 4" scrappy piano key, 2", and 6 " borders. |
The sides just have the 2" and 6" borders. The binding will be the brown with blue flowers that is in the center bottom full brown square. Now to do the binding and put this aside for awhile while I catch up on other things quilty and not quilty. For more Easy Street progress visit Bonnie's Quiltville here. As always the mystery is one of the highlights of the season, Bonnie never disappoints. Thank you to Bonnie for another wonderful mystery and lovely pattern. |

Easy Street Blocks.
Thursday 01-03-13 I've finished all the blocks for my Easy Street. I got to wondering how it would look if it was set straight. The lighting was terrible, hopefully, it will look better in better lighting.

Working Along on Step 8 of Easy Street
Sixteen Blocks all stacked up and waiting to be sewn. I decided to use the same yellow print on all my block centers, I was looking for a yellow with pizzazz, like a bright yellow Fairy Frost or such, but didn't have any in my smallish stash, this was the best I could do. |
I had to finish one block A this morning just to see. This is a block A, one of the 4 triangles, and 2 of the 16 triangles. Sometime while I was getting to this point I got a glimpse of my blues and thought that reminds me of Blue Willow or Blue Danube, or some of the blue and white dish patterns that I love. Then I thought yes, this is what I was going for, shabby chic, sort of. But, alas, I was lying to myself, I didn't have that much forethought, but this small sample is giving me hope that that is what I'll end up with, and I think I'm liking it. It remains to be seen if my cream Fairy Frost was a mistake that won't show up at all. I hope not. |
The other 15 A blocks sewn into strips, pinned and ready to be blocks. |
