| I'm moving right along, half done now, but I think even though I haven't quite caught up I need to work on my Flower Patch blocks. I'm coming from behind on both quilt alongs. |

| Not a very good picture, but my first 6 blocks. They are 20 inches square with the frames and sashings, very large to work on, especially in contrast to starting off with the little 6 inch blocks in the barns. |

| I have confidence that it'll look better when things are in their correct place. The inside corners are supposed to fit together in a little pattern, but since it needs the odd placement, that's not happening, plus hopefully more fabrics will look more pleasingly scrappy. What can I say, I'm trying to use things up rather than purchase, for the most part. |

| I worked on and off all weekend on my barns and got all the sides, roofs, skies, frames and sashings cut out. This morning, I got up and all I had to do to finish barns 2 (which this is) and 3 is cut out and sew the art work blocks and sew the barns together. I'm really enjoying these, as they are so cute. I know, this is either a really large barn, or a really small tractor, and the bees would be scary if in scale. |

| When I do block number 4, I hope to sew the frames and sashings on blocks 1 thru 4 and see a little miniature version of my 12 block quilt. |

| I went to Hobby Lobby today and got a few things. I got the dot in the foreground for the frames of my barns and then I plan to put a couple of log cabin type rows around that. The browns are for roofs, the reds for barns, the green is for a roof too, a vine covered one. the yellows and the juvenile print are for doors and windows. The rest will come from stash. I figure that these can also be used if I get a little crazy and decide to do the barns with the silos, too. They are adorable too, look here. |

| They also had a lot of their home dec on sale, and I couldn't resist this. It was originally 80.00 dollars marked down 80 percent to 16.00 dollars. There are 5 drawers. Not sure where I'm putting it, but I think it could be good for needles, bobbins, rubber bands, and such. |

| The first four. I think I'm going to like this quilt. It'll have rick-rack too, and rick-rack always reminds me of my mother. I don't think our budget would allow fancies, like lace, but she could squeeze in a little bit of rick-rack to cheer things up. The already made memories will make me like the quilt even better. |

| I've been eying these barn blocks ever since I first saw one, and I've finally gotten my first one done. I did a lot of the cutting yesterday, and then last night I needed to do the weeks pills, so I got up about 2:00am to get it off my mind. While I was up I sewed the little 6 inch Weathervane block, and then this morning I finished it up. I had diet coke with my dinner last night, big mistake, but ok since I got a lot done. I still need to do the sashing, or frame, but I'm holding off to make sure I get fabric that I like for it. It'll probably be white, but I just want to check things out a bit first to be sure. |

| These cute little stars were fun to make. I had planned on doing them when the step came out, which was Monday, but Thursday isn't too bad. I think that it's going to be a very cute quilt, even with my deviations in fabrics. |

| I've got all my flowers for Flower Patch sorted now, but it still isn't a thing of beauty. Sometimes pretty has to go through a homely stage before it gets where it's going, and my Flower Patch quilt has a long way to go. I can't wait to get a block together, but progress was delayed by a call from my Grandson to see if we wanted to go to a movie with him and the Great-Grandson. We saw Epic, and even though it wouldn't have been my first choice (I'm not too much in to animated) it was very cute. We went to Chic-Filet after that, and are just getting home. The mess in my house was waiting, so I guess that if I want to get to "Purty" I'd better get going. |

| This doesn't look like much, but it took me hours. My feet and my back are hurting and I'm tired, lol. "The old gray mare she ain't what she used to be", for sure. I don't think I missed anything, so my Flower Patch quilt is all cut out now. That's two that I have completely cut out, this and my Scrappy Lattice, which I will get back to. |

| Hopefully, my Flower Patch quilt will look something like this, but since my background is light pink, I guess it will be less yellow and more pink. I decided to use that fabric even though I'm using it for my Sugar Block Club-Craftsy BOM 2012, as the fabric is such a bargain, and I do like it. It is 8 yards for fifteen something, plus shipping. Can't beat that these days. I had in mind to do part 2 of Deck-ade the Halls today, but I got up really early (3:30am) for some reason, and it wasn't up yet so I started on this and I'm compulsive, I wanted to get it finished. Tomorrow for cleaning this place and doing step 2. Both quilt alongs are just getting started if you need a new project, lol. |

| The June Craftsy BOM 2013 is wrinkly but done. I don't think that y seams will ever be my favorite. I don't worry a whole lot about a few wrinkles, as I aspire to the crinkly look in my quilts, and I figure that after washing they'll blend right in. I do need to improve my pressing though. Now, I'm a little ahead of the game, I can relax tomorrow and go with my daughter and grandson to see my brothers and my nephew, I'm looking forward to a nice day. Monday will be for the Deck-ade the Halls block and the rest of the month I can finally start on the barns and table topper for my husbands dresser. Can't believe I'm finally caught up for now. | This months 16 patches, 6 inch finished 9 patches and 4 1/2 inch finished 9 patches. As you can see, I'm having to reach to find enough yellowish scraps, I'll just pretend that it gives them character, lol. Maybe others are working with yellow, not yellow(ish) fabrics. | I pretty much wasted 2 days watching quilting videos (they're like potato chips) and playing on the computer, but this morning I got some cutting done. I'm ready now to start sewing on the Craftsy Re-piecing the Past, the Craftsy 2012 BOM, the OKCMQG BOM, the Sugar Block Club BOM and the Craftsy 2013 BOM. It would be really nice if I were to have them finished by Monday and then I could concentrate on the Deck-ade the Halls step 2 and maybe have the rest of the month to concentrate on the Quilty Barn Along and making a topper for my husband's dresser. |

| My colors are a big departure from the colors in the original quilt, and I loved the colors in the quilt here, but I'm using stash so mine will be very different, yet I hope, still very cute. The colors are off here, the background is actually Kona Snow. These were fun to make, time consuming, but easier than I had anticipated. I did have to recut some because I read it wrong, and I had to do a little ripping, but that was carelessness on my part. This is only step 1, so if you want to give it a go, the info is here. PS. In my haste , excitement, or carelessness, I'm not sure which, I left out the 2 strips between the gingerbread men. I have since fixed it. |

| Yea! Last May block done. I'm caught up finally. My son and one of his daughter's may stay with us some next month or July, so it could be short lived, but for now, Yea! I'm feeling rather like I'm already a bit overwhelmed, but I am just itching to start the Deck-ade the Halls and the Quilty Barn Along, what's the matter with me, am I a glutton for punishment. Meanwhile, a mock-up of Lessons 1 thru 7 of the Craftsy Re-Piecing the Past - Civil War Blocks.  |
