And Finished Step One "Easy Street"

About 200 of the little rascals.  My Ivory solid is Fairy Frost.  I told my husband that Fairy Frost makes me smile and he said I should put little bits of it all around the house.  I don't think I'll do that, but I feel happy when I even run across a piece in my scraps.  I like things that shine.  (Remember the monkey in my previous post.)  I didn't pick the ivory to use in my quilt because I agonized over the very best colors I could pick.  No, I saw Fairy Frost on clearance at Hancock's of Paducah and I couldn't help myself, I had to have it.
Easy Street is finished until next Friday, hopefully by then I'll have a finish or two to report and maybe an ipad or kindle bag, too.  It's amazing how much more you can do when you're retired, and how much more that could be done if I put the pedal to the metal.  I'm also good at taking breaks.
There are a multitude of us working on "Easy Street" to see some of the progress go here to Bonnie's blog Quiltville's Quips and Snips.

I love the blues and the ivory, they look so clean and fresh. I like fabrics with a bit of sparkle too, they add another textural dimension (that sounds a bit pompous doesn't it, but I can't think of another way of putting it) to a quilt.

Beautiful! I can't wait to see this Friday's work. ;-)

Regarding how much more can be done when retired ... I've quilted more quilts in the 4 years since I retired than I did in the 25 years previous. I've become quilting obsessed ... DH says that I'm trying to make up for all the time I wasn't able to quilt while working full time. ha!

I see a rebel in the thumbnails here...Not using the B & W. I am going to use some Fairy Frost in my Easy Street too. PURPLE, of course. Looking great!

Like your four patch colors and fabrics. I have not started Easy Street and was pulling out my blacks and whites and gray and such and after seeing yours I may have other thoughts ... ;) Pat

Congratulations on completing step one! I've done 63 of them so far, but I'm fitting it around work and other commitments.

Your ivory and blues look great together!

I really like the sparkle and the blue and white fabrics you're using for the other squares.

Your Fairy Frost will be lovely in the finished quilt. Just a few hours and we will get the next clue. I feel like a little kid at Christmas :)
