A Little Brown and Black

I just added pink to the Rainbow Scrap Challenge last night, so I'll go from being very late, to being early.  As I explained last night, I did 72 slab blocks for a queen sized quilt, to be finished in a few months, and it includes these 7 browns.

And, 7 blacks also.  My blocks don't ever seem to be purist though, almost anything goes as long as there is some of the desired color.  I also consider gray to be black. Maybe I'm color blind and don't know it.

I finished 2 more baby quilt flimsies, not too much of a stretch, as it was only one border on this one.

This one was finished today too, and it was just 3 borders.  Panels sure hurry up the process.

I have been trying to use up fabric and scraps, and made the mistake of looking at the Marshall's Dry Goods site after receiving their email.  I fell in love with these golden fabrics, I love bling.  There is also one of the Christmas balls with a black background.  I was bad and ordered a yard of each, and then needed to decide what to do with them.

I found this quilt on Yellowbugquilts.com and fell in love with it.  I can see the different golds in the blocks, with 4 of the
motifs inserted into them, and a pretty red metallic fabric for the sashing.  It's her Mondrian Inspired Quilt Pattern

That last quilt looks like a Mondrian work! And your slab blocks are wonderful; I’ve started concertin my “poverty piecing” from gian slabs (for kennel quilts) to more usable sized blocks. I see online shopping is as dangerous for you as it is for some of the rest of us (*cough*)

Sorry about the mess of misspellings in my last comment. I shouldn’t sleep and type at the same time, LOL!

Great projects on the go!! You've got BROWN and BLACK (Those quick panel quilts are a joy to stitch up, too) Oh! I agree with you about gray... to me, it's just light black!! :o))

Yes...I think gray is light black!
And I used to shop at Marshall Dry Goods a lot. They always have good deals. I've been on "no buy" for quite a few months now until I finish a few quilts.

With black you did the right thing because it needs sparkle and the grey is good, too. The Mondrian quilt is great. I'll have to have a,look at Marshall Dry Goods!!

Yes, I guess I forgot to say the name, Just gave the link. It’s a pretty one. Online shopping is very dangerous, and it’s so much fun getting packages in the mail.

Thank you, and I’m glad I’m not the only one, lol.

I guess that’s 3 of us! I need to join you on no buy. I don’t have a large stash, but the idea is to use it, not increase it.

Thank you. I think it’s beautiful, I just hope mine is as pretty made as it is in my mind.
They do have some bargains.
