Yesterday I purchased some fabrics for Bonnie Hunter's new mystery "Roll Roll Cotton Boll", and today I pulled some fabrics. The plastic bags on the bottom of each stack are really scrappy scraps, and the rest is fat quarters and yardage. I had to rob Tobacco Road and Double Delight, previous mysteries from Bonnie, but I'll worry about that later. I also robbed my little stash of Thimbleberries. Actually not so much a stash, I had bought some scraps (too beautiful to be called scraps, perfect eighth of a yards) from Keepsake Quilting and am hoping to get more and make a bargello from them. I feel like it is always fun to participate when everyone is in the thick of it so that decided my priority. Now, I just have to wait for the first clue on November 19th. Do you think that raspberry is shouting at the other pinks? Bonnie said raspberry pinks, but I think that one may have too much raspberry. It may not make it into the quilt. |

Love the fabrics your using for the mystery. I like the raspberry fabric.
Morning Candace---
Bright-n-early Saturday for me and my plans today: pull together fabrics too! I agree with you 100%: I need to get in the thick of this mystery along with everyone else; I have yet to miss one of her mysteries!
In all honesty, I think I know what "raspberry" you are talking about...and yeah...it does appear to stand out. Sorry for not having a different opinion, but I have also tossed out pinks that don't fit well (I think it was with the Double Delight mystery)....
but....catching up on everyone before hitting downstairs. Hopefully tonight I'll finally have something to show for time in my sewing room.
Thank you for the comment on my DWR quilt. It is a slow process, but I am enjoying it. I myself love the Rasperry. If it is used as a smaller piece and not a larger piece, it will blend in wonderfully. But that is my mind for you. Have a great time with the mystery.
Looks like fun - if only I did not have projects that I just have to get finished, I would join in the party.
What lush fabrics love all of them!
Great finds you made for your Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt. I will be watching your progress.
Yes, you do have one raspberry that is stronger than others BUT. Try a bit of it. It just might make the quilt. But then color selection is not anything I can do myself. I always get someone else to do it for me..............
So glad to see you will be playing along with the mystery!
I really liked your article.
