Picture Overload

I have been very busy sewing, putting in 8 to 12 hour days for the last 5 or 6 days, these items are what I have to show for it.  Seems like there should be more, lol.  This is a smaller version that I winged as I went, of the Temple bags from My Quilt Diet's blog.  It's for my 5 year old granddaughter for an overnight type bag.s f

The smaller versions front and flap.

Her Mama, Marcy's full sized version.

Marcy's back.

Marcy's inside and flap.

A comparison of the two sizes.

Mine.  I keep giving mine away, maybe this one will stick.

The back of mine.

And the inside and flap of mine.

My visiting teacher Becky's back.

Becky's inside and flap, I seem to have lost the picture of her front momentarily.

A Spider Man and Marvel heroes travel pillowcase for my 2 year old grandson.

My grandson is visiting his brother, another grandson, in Germany and he informed me that his girlfriend will be traveling with him and having a birthday while they're gone.  This is a gift for her, a large bag with 10 pockets and a zipper top.  Hopefully, handy while traveling.

A totebag for the 2 year old.

Zipper pouches for the 5 year old great-granddaughter, and the 2 year old great-grandson.
The insides.  Spider man and Paris.  While the visit is going on, they plan to all visit there.
And the missing front.  These Temple bags are pretty labor intensive, thus the hard day's labor.

Misc.

My friend Janice, came bearing gifts.  The top is a beautiful Scripture cover, and the green underneath is a casserole carrier.  The other side is pieced, I should have taken the picture that way, and may yet.

I made the medium size Open Wide Zippered Pouch.  It is the black one, and I used batting on that one.

I rearranged a little to make things more attractive, hopefully, and this is the main change.  I added the candy jar, wonder clips in crystal bowls, and flower frogs from ebay.  I also moved my mug rack-scissor rack over here.

My third Temple bag, front.

Back of my Temple bag.

Janice's first Temple bag.  I did the prep, and she did the rest.

Second Try

Bird's eye view.
The first try is inside.  The large and the small, no mediums, yet.

My zipper tab is on the outside this time.

I didn't like the crinkly look of the small one with the interfacing, and I thought maybe all the extra seams would be enough for some extra body on the large one, but I think it could do with more body.  Maybe, batting.

Oops!

I saw these on Instagram, people were making them from Noodlehead's blog here, and on impulse I decided I needed to make one.  It's her Open Wide Zipper Pouch, in three sizes, this is the smallest.  It started off badly, when i saw as I had started ironing on interfacing, that there was a huge stain, about the size of a silver dollar.

Bad went to bader, when I sewed it up, and turned it right side out.  The left side is supposed to have a cute little tab, and my end is on the inside, not the outside.  It did save me having to make a tab though, just trying to look on the bright side.

It does open wide though, and even mine, with it's major faults, came out kind of cute.  The interfacing makes it kind of crumply looking though, I'm going to make another, but maybe this time I'll leave it out.

Temple Bags 3 and 4 (aka Huge Messenger Bag)

My Quilt Diet had a quilt along for these, and since my friends from Idaho are visiting next week, I've been doing the prep for the lady of the pair and I to make them while they're here.  There's still plenty left to do, bottom to top:   inside flaps, exterior, straps, zipper pockets, other 5 pockets, and interior lining.
