Tree and Cover

I made my Christmas Tree from a pattern by Sewcanshe.  I added the ornaments, I had a little bit of shiny gold fabric, but not enough so I had to mix it with Christmas fabric.  It's big, about 3 feet wide and 4 feet tall.

I got a new sewing machine and made a cover for it, but I didn't like it much and sent it back.  I've ordered another and am hoping that the cover might fit it, too.  It's not a good job, it looks ok from a distance, but up close, I'm not proud.  I've been spoiled first by my Bernina 830 Record, and then upgrading to my 1130.  I've gotten good use from it for over 30 years, but I think I've injured it too badly to be completely healed (it's in the shop now) so I've been looking for another.  I can't afford the new Bernina's so am looking for a machine to bond with.

Randomness

My brother passed away a few years ago, and this is some of his prized wood.  There were these two short pieces so I got them intending to make shelves or such.

I finally sanded them and oiled them and made shelves.  I've since added the other one in place of the little white shelf below.

Approximately 47-48 years ago as young marrieds we lived here.  We got to be lifelong friends with our upstairs neighbors, who now live in Idaho.  We are now in Florida, and this was in Massachusetts.  They recently went back for a wedding and took the picture and sent it to us.

After my big Christmas project I felt like doing something small, so I made these 2 wall hangings, one for me and one for a great-granddaughter's birthday.  My machine was acting up big time, it's in the shop now.
I had some leftovers, so I made this one, too.

I also decided to do a quick sew along.  Little Miss Saw Tooth Quilt Along with Southern Charm Quilts.
I got a new second hand desk for my sewing room/office.  I like it a lot.

Christmas Project, Etc.

I'm going to have another great-grandson in a few months, this is a crib quilt for him.  His dad is a surfer and fisherman, so I thought, it's unusual, but hopefully they like it.

I had a very limited time to finish it, so it has very simple quilting, and we are in Florida, so I thought fleece with no batting would be cozy, but not too warm.

I have a project to finish 30 quilts by Christmas.  I had 4 quilts finished before I got started on the project and I may get some help, so it's not too daunting.  These are the first 10 of 26, very simple, flimsies at this point.  I have fleece for most of these, so will get quilting in the not too distant future.

A little 'cute' relief, my toy Aussie, Sunday.

A little 'nature' relief.

Back to the quilt tops.

9 of the 10 tops finished so far.  Again, very simple, and I'm also using up a lot of my larger scraps cut into 2 1/2" strips and sewn jelly roll race style.
