April Rainbow Scrap Challenge and Hiddenwells Goof Up

This is what a hiddenwells looks like when the blocks are put together wrong, oops.  I don't feel too bad though, it will be mostly covered up with a lamp and knick-knacks.  This one is only about 21 by 21 inches.

And the reverse side.  I didn't do as well as I would have liked centering it, but I promise, it is square, although it doesn't look like it here.   This side fits right into Angela's Soscrappy, which you can visit here to see lots of green, as it is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for April.

Since I made my hiddenwells smaller, I got 5 cuts out of each stripset instead of the usual 4.  With the leftovers I decided to make mug rugs.  These are only about 5 by 9 or so.  These are the first mug rugs that I've made, I always wonder if they are actually useful.  I wonder if anyone really uses them.  I made 2 and this is the front and the back.   I can do better when I take time, but these were hurry up jobs.

  3. Love your cats! I like using mug rugs, though I have also started making oversized coasters that are square, they seem more functional somehow.

  4. Cute cats. I have some kind of cat ruler around here somewhere that I've never used...I'll have to get it out. Your cats inspired me.

I've made plenty of mug rugs - given them as gifts with cups, teas, chocolates, etc...but I don't think I would use one which makes me think neither would the people I gave them to!!!

  5. Oh my... The cats are so cute! My daughter has been asking for a quilt and even picked out some fabric... That might be a great pattern... Hmm...

I also have to make a small matching quilt for her beloved stuff kitty... :-)

I am allergic (and we just found out my little son is too, so she can't have a real kitty.)

  7. Well, I can't spot any mistakes. I love the cats, and they look relatively easy to make but so effective. I have a few mug rugs that I use.

  8. Not sure what is wrong with your Hidden Wells, but it looks mighty fine to me! And I see you've used some New Orleans map fabric for your background - very nice! Love the green kitties, too!
