In my blogging, I ran across firefly's blog I live on a farm. I haven't done any knitting in years, but her knitted grocery bag was so pretty, and her reasons for using the 'green bags' so convincing that I thought I would give it a try. Besides, about a year ago I bought some circular knitting needles that I haven't tried, and I thought this would be a good thing to try them with.
The complete instructions are on her blog, and you'll be helping the environment, if you would like to give it a try, also.
I can't wait to see your bag. One of our local grocery stores has a new thing going now. They have canvas bags for sale for 2 or 2.5 bucks and when you buy them, you get some discount on your groceries when you use it on future visits. I'm just buying one each time I shop there. Soon, I'll have enough for all my grocery shopping, and a discount to boot. Thought this was a great idea! They are really nice heavy bags.
I love to knit, but I not good at it and my hands have become uncooperative, but I love the idea of a reusable bag. Ours are recycled, but they still have to manufactured to begin with...
Thank you Candace, you are so good and so sweet.
ReplyDeleteWarmest wishes to you and your readers!

ReplyDeleteOh, this is really cute AND you are doing something "green."
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I need some more reusable bags for shopping. What could be better than making my own. Thanks!
